Overview
- Wladimir Klitschko filed a Los Angeles petition on Thursday, Sept. 24 asking to be named temporary guardian of 11-year-old Kaya’s estate so he can start probate proceedings on her behalf.
- The court papers say Kaya is the sole heir because Hayden Panettiere died intestate and that an immediate appointment is needed to prevent estate property from being lost or misappropriated.
- Klitschko’s filing alleges some personal items, including jewelry and designer pieces, are missing or unaccounted for and that federal agents have taken certain items into evidence during the probe.
- The petition also claims non-family individuals previously connected to Panettiere accessed and destroyed some of her emails and that security steps were taken after her death to secure locks and storage units.
- Panettiere’s death was ruled an accidental drug overdose by the Greenville coroner, Klitschko has had full custody of Kaya since 2018, and Panettiere’s family has told outlets they do not plan to challenge Kaya’s inheritance.
