Overview
- Setup for Düsseldorf’s Rheinkirmes is underway and organisers say the event will feature about 300 stall and ride spots and more than 30 new attractions, including two world premieres called Oracle and Invader.
- The Rheinkirmes is scheduled to run for ten days in mid‑July and is expected to draw several million visitors, with the signature combined fireworks and drone show planned for Friday, July 24.
- Local fairs across NRW are starting in early July, with the Bodelschwingher Kirmes in Dortmund opening on Friday, July 3 with a traditional keg‑tapping by Mayor Norbert Schilff and a family day offering ride and stall discounts.
- Smaller Volksfeste through July and August will keep a familiar pattern of staging large rides first, then vendors and food stalls, nightly fireworks and community programming that supports local vendors and summer tourism.
- The region’s Kirmes calendar continues into August with larger events such as the Cranger Kirmes in Herne (August 6–16) and dozens more local festivals that together draw millions and sustain the regional leisure economy.
