Kirby Air Riders Details Locked In: No DLC, Global Test Ride Dates, Day-One Update

The director says all content ships at launch, marking a break from his DLC-heavy Smash Bros. model.

Overview

  • Masahiro Sakurai confirmed there are no plans for post-launch DLC or to turn Kirby Air Riders into an ongoing series.
  • The Global Test Ride runs November 8–9 and 15–16 for Switch 2 owners, with demo software downloadable starting November 7 and Nintendo Switch Online needed for online play.
  • Demo access includes Lessons, City Trial, and Air Ride on three courses—Floria Fields, Waveflow Waters, and Mount Amberfalls—with paddock lobbies capped at 16 players in the demo versus 32 in retail.
  • An unusually extensive accessibility suite includes in-game button remapping, adjustable text size, colorblind filters, HUD presets, onscreen outlines, motion-sickness mitigations, and FOV options.
  • A day-one update will enable features discussed in the Direct, and the full game launches November 20 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
