Overview
- The Kings meet the Ducks in a preseason Freeway Faceoff exhibition with puck drop scheduled for 1:00 p.m. PT and local coverage on ABTV.
- Mayors Manor reports the Kings have moved two players, Connors and Wright, toward assignments with the Ontario Reign of the AHL as the club narrows its roster.
- Anton Forsberg and Darcy Kuemper remain in a direct competition for the starting NHL netminder role, and Forsberg’s 24-save outing in the prior meeting has heightened the significance of today’s appearances.
- A projected lineup shows final auditions for depth players and likely scratches, and the team expects to place defenseman Scott Perunovich on waivers tomorrow as one of the last roster decisions.
- Anaheim’s bloated camp and a recent 10-0 loss leave many possible matchups today, and any Kings cuts or waiver moves could change player career paths by moving them to the AHL or exposing them to other teams.
