Overview
- Several members of the north London network were sentenced Thursday at Snaresbrook Crown Court, taking total jail time to about 25 years, with organiser Adedayo Shobanjo due for sentencing on April 7.
- Corrupt officer Jason Thompson served as the inside link at HMP Isis and was jailed in February for four years and six months after admitting misconduct and conspiracy charges.
- The group moved phones, cannabis resin, vape oil and USB sticks loaded with entertainment and pornography during supervised visits, using burner phones, coded slang and discarded devices to avoid detection.
- The Met opened the case in February 2024 after a Prison Service alert, reviewed more than 800 hours of CCTV and phone data, intercepted a cannabis package on March 13, 2024, and then made 11 coordinated arrests across London.
- Officers seized further contraband and found Class A drugs and ammunition at some addresses, and prison leaders warned that corruption endangers staff and inmates and will face firm joint action.
