King Honours Paramedic Alice Clark With Elizabeth Emblem

Her parents attended a Number 10 meeting during the release of the third list of Elizabeth Emblem recipients.

Overview

  • Gill and Graeme Clark met Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Darren Jones at Number 10 alongside other families being recognised.
  • The Clarks are among 53 next of kin named in the third tranche of awards since the civilian honour was created in March 2024.
  • The emblem to be presented is a silver oval inscribed “For a life given in service,” surrounded by a rosemary wreath and a Tudor crown, with Alice Clark’s name on the reverse.
  • Alice Clark, 21, died on 5 January 2022 when the ambulance she was in collided with a cement lorry on the A21 near Sevenoaks during a blue‑light shift.
  • The ambulance driver pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, and a coroner later found the service had failed to properly investigate earlier complaints about him.
