A new triennial agreement with the Sandringham Estate creates a recurring RHS showcase that spotlights biodiversity, reuse and community gardening.

Overview

  • The King and Queen officially opened the inaugural RHS Sandringham Flower Show on Wednesday, July 22, arriving by horse-drawn carriage and touring the showgrounds.
  • Charles visited the RHS Royal Legacy Garden co-designed with Catherine MacDonald and called the finished garden “fantastic.”
  • Camilla presented Her Majesty’s Special Award for Upcycled Container Gardens to Ingoldisthorpe Church of England Primary School for their bee-themed “The Queen Bee” exhibit.
  • The five-day event runs from July 22 to 26 and features garden designs, specialist growers, talks and demonstrations that emphasize sustainability and wildlife-friendly planting.
  • Under the estate agreement the RHS will stage the show at Sandringham once every three years with the next RHS edition planned for 2029 and the volunteer-run Sandringham Flower Show returning in the intervening years.
