Overview
- Kia unveiled the PV7 on Monday at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, presenting a production van on the E‑GMP.S PBV skateboard with long‑body dimensions and front‑wheel drive while an AWD option is promised later.
- The PV7 will offer two NCM battery packs, 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh, with the Long Range Cargo claiming more than about 460 km WLTP on Kia’s provisional figures.
- Kia fitted the PV7 with an 800‑volt electrical architecture that supports up to 350 kW DC charging for a company‑quoted 10–80% time in the mid‑20‑minute range, plus dual charging ports and Vehicle‑to‑Load outlets to aid depot operations.
- The lineup debuts with Cargo and Passenger forms—Cargo Long gives about 6.1 m3 (rising to 8.0 m3 in High Roof), a ~550 mm load height and room for three Euro pallets, while Passenger layouts seat up to nine (eleven in Korea)—and will expand to many chassis and conversion variants.
- Kia plans sales in South Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027 with Australia to follow in Q4 2027, but final WLTP range, charging times, homologation numbers and pricing remain provisional and will determine the PV7’s competitiveness as Kia scales its broader PBV strategy ahead of a larger PV9 in 2029.
