Kia Opens Orders for EV2 Across Europe at €26,600

The cut-price compact aims to pull more buyers into EVs by pairing long-range options with faster charging and local production.

Overview

  • Kia began taking EV2 orders in Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland with German pricing from €26,600 and first deliveries due next month.
  • Buyers can pick a 42.2 kWh battery rated at about 197 miles WLTP or a 61 kWh pack targeting about 281 miles, both driving a front motor.
  • The EV2 supports up to 118 kW DC fast charging for a 10–80% top-up in about 30 minutes and offers 22 kW AC charging to speed home and workplace charging.
  • Series production is under way in Slovakia for the standard-range model, with the long-range and GT-Line versions scheduled to join the line in June 2026.
  • Kia pitches the EV2 against small electric crossovers from Skoda, Volkswagen and Renault, adding features like dual 12.3-inch displays, a phone-as-key and remote parking at a lower entry price.
