Kia Expands PV5 Line With Compact Urban Cargo Van and Seven‑Seat Passenger Model

Kia says the additions and MY27 equipment changes are intended to make the PV5 more useful for city fleets by improving manoeuvrability, practicality and access to subsidies.

Overview

  • Kia announced on Wednesday a new compact PV5 Cargo L1/H1 that is 200mm shorter than the L2/H1 and offers 4.0 cubic metres of VDA cargo volume to ease use in congested city streets.
  • The L1/H1 Cargo will launch as a two‑seat van with a three‑seat variant scheduled for early 2027 and a slightly higher 800kg payload in some two‑door configurations.
  • Kia rolled out model‑year 2027 upgrades across the Cargo range that include standard driver lumbar support, a composite bulkhead, a multi‑position armrest on two‑seat versions and Walk Away Lock technology.
  • A new seven‑seat PV5 Passenger is now available only with the 71.2kWh Long Range battery offering about 242–243 miles WLTP range and up to 150kW DC charging for 10–80% in under 30 minutes, plus a new high‑spec Elite grade with electric sliding doors and ventilated seats.
  • UK pricing was published with Cargo L1/H1 from £27,355 plus VAT and the seven‑seat from £36,995, and all PV5 Cargo models qualify for the UK Zero Emission Van Grant; Kia has also been activating PV5 sales in other markets including Japan through a Sojitz‑run PBV unit.
