Overview
- Kia, which unveiled the second-generation Seltos on Wednesday at the New York International Auto Show, confirmed three powertrains and set U.S. timing with gas models due in Q2 2026 and the hybrid slated for late Q4 2026.
- The redesigned model grows longer and wider with a wheelbase stretched by 2.4 inches, which Kia says increases rear-seat room and cargo space, and ground clearance now reaches up to 8.1 inches on top trims.
- Power choices include a base 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an intelligent variable transmission, a 1.6-liter turbo expected at about 190 horsepower with an 8-speed automatic, and a new hybrid pairing a 1.6-liter engine with a 6-speed dual-clutch and optional e-AWD.
- Inside, the Seltos adds near 30 inches of total screen space with dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and an expanded safety suite that includes Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning and an optional 360-degree view.
- Kia says Seltos is unique in its segment for offering three distinct powertrains, pricing will be announced closer to launch, and the hybrid’s final specs and fuel-economy figures will arrive later this year.
