Kevin Magnussen Tells Noah Gragson to 'F*** Off' After Contact in NASCAR Debut

A Turn 4 collision that ended Gragson’s race exposed tensions over how open-wheel drivers adapt to NASCAR’s close-contact street racing.

Overview

  • Magnussen, driving Trackhouse’s Project91 No. 91 in his first Cup start, made contact with Noah Gragson on the run into Turn 4 and sent Gragson into the wall.
  • Gragson suffered right-front damage that broke a toe link and forced him to retire while Magnussen continued and later finished 27th.
  • After the race, Gragson waited on pit road and confronted Magnussen in an 80–90 second, profanity-laced exchange that was recorded on video by Frontstretch’s Dalton Hopkins.
  • In the recorded confrontation Magnussen repeatedly told Gragson to 'get the f*** out of my face' and to 'f*** off' while Gragson pressed him for an explanation.
  • The incident has focused attention on Project91’s effort to bring international stars into NASCAR and on broader friction between regular Cup drivers and crossover entrants as they learn close-contact, street-course racing.
