Overview
- At a CII Southern Region meeting near Thiruvananthapuram, the Chief Minister said Kerala secured ₹1.18 lakh crore in investment commitments at WEF Davos 2026 and released a CII handbook on the state.
- He laid the foundation stone for a Science and IT Park at Cheriyavalappu, Anjarakandy in Kannur, a 50-acre project budgeted at ₹600 crore.
- The park will operate under the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment with academic guidance from Kannur University and nearby institutions.
- Officials say the hub is intended to connect academia and industry, open internships and skills pathways, attract global life-sciences players, and potentially create lakhs of jobs.
- The Chief Minister also cited earlier pledges of about ₹2 lakh crore at Invest Kerala 2025 and highlighted recent ease-of-doing-business recognitions and sector strengths such as medical-device manufacturing.
