Kentucky Beats Penn State 3-1 at Wrigley Field

The No. 3 Wildcats produced balanced offense and defense in a high-profile Big Ten-SEC Challenge match with a quick turnaround to host North Carolina on Sept. 9.

Kentucky defeated No. 13 Penn State 3-1 with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15 in the Big Ten-SEC Challenge played at Wrigley Field.
Senior outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye led the Cats with 21 kills while Morgan Gaerte had 15 and Asia Thigpen added 12 to power the attack.
Sophomore setter Kassie O’Brien totaled 48 assists and senior libero Molly Tuzzo recorded a match-high 19 digs to anchor Kentucky’s offense and defense.
The outdoor setting at Wrigley Field influenced play and Kentucky hit .281 in the match; the game aired nationally on Fox and streamed on Fubo at 7:00 p.m. ET.
