Keio Limited Express Strikes Car at Fuchu Level Crossing

Investigators are examining how the vehicle entered despite functioning crossing warnings.

  • Police said the driver braked about 30 meters before the crossing after spotting the car, as operators reported that the gates and alarms were working.
  • Roughly 40 minutes after the crash, passengers began disembarking and moved toward Higashi-Fuchu Station under staff direction.
