KEA Opens Web Option Entry for KCET and UGCET 2026 Counselling

The portal launch moves candidates into a timed choice phase that will determine mock allotments in early July and final Round 1 seats on July 15.

Overview

  • The Karnataka Examinations Authority activated the web option-entry portal on June 20, and candidates must complete and lock their college and course preferences by June 30 at 10:00 am.
  • Only students who have finished document verification and downloaded their verification slip can participate in the online allotment process, and KEA provides step-by-step guidance and a help‑centre system for verification.
  • KEA told students scheduled for the NEET 2026 re-exam to prioritise that test and allowed those NEET candidates to begin option entry from June 22 to avoid clashes with the exam schedule.
  • Option entry currently covers engineering, agriculture, veterinary and nursing and allied programmes, but seat matrices for Architecture, Pharmacy, Yoga and Naturopathy are still pending and will be enabled when departments submit them.
  • KEA dropped a pre-round counselling stage to prevent delays; the authority will publish a mock allotment on July 6 with an option‑modification window from July 6 (2:00 pm) to July 9 (10:00 am) and the Round 1 final allotment on July 15, requiring students to use the mock phase to adjust preferences and plan fee and reporting steps.
