Katra–Amritsar Vande Bharat Rerouted Via Gurdaspur and Batala
The shorter alignment extends premium service to border towns.
Overview
- The Jammu Division of Northern Railway announced Tuesday a route shift to Gurdaspur and Batala for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Amritsar Vande Bharat.
- The timetable sets a 6:40 am departure from Katra reaching Amritsar at 11:40 am, with the return leaving at 4:40 pm and arriving in Katra at 9:45 pm.
- Scheduled halts in both directions will be Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Gurdaspur and Batala.
- Officials said the change shortens the Jammu–Amritsar run and brings a semi-high-speed Vande Bharat service to Gurdaspur and Batala for pilgrims and border residents.
- Passengers have been asked to confirm the new timings and stops on the Indian Railways site, the National Train Enquiry System or helpline 139 before travel.
