Overview
- The Princess of Wales completed the National Three Peaks Challenge last weekend, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
- On Sunday, Kensington Palace posted new photographs showing Kate embraced by Prince William, their three children and members of her family at the base of Snowdon to mark the finish of the trek.
- Kensington Palace said it believes Kate is the first member of the royal family to complete the Three Peaks, and the family images were shared alongside a Royal Marsden fundraising link.
- During the route she met an 11-year-old wheelchair fundraiser known as Ted and later donated to his JustGiving page while leaving a supportive message.
- The challenge covered about 23 miles on foot with roughly 10,000 feet of ascent and long drives between peaks, and Kate has used the effort to press for wider access to holistic, whole-person support for people living with and beyond cancer.
