Overview
- The Lokayukta ran simultaneous early-morning searches at more than 35 locations on Tuesday targeting eight serving and retired government officers across Bengaluru, Davangere, Kalaburagi, Chikkamagaluru and other districts.
- Investigators identified movable and immovable assets valued at about ₹31.11 crore in total, with immovable property estimated at roughly ₹22.73 crore and movable assets at about ₹8.38 crore.
- Teams recovered cash, gold and silver ornaments, vehicles and bank deposits, including a reported seizure of ₹37 lakh plus jewellery worth about ₹1.23 crore and a separate recovery of ₹40 lakh in Hubballi.
- The officials named in the probes include mid- and senior-level officers from town planning, electricity distribution, forest department, road transport, rural infrastructure and public works such as Rajanna S. L., Uday Kumar M. B., Harshavardhan P. N. and K. S. Mohan.
- Lokayukta teams are now examining property records, bank statements and transaction documents and may move to prosecutions or administrative action depending on the evidence, a process that could affect the officers’ jobs and pending departmental approvals.
