Karls to Open Pop-Up Erlebnisdorf in Wernigerode in May as Test for 2028 Park

The temporary site will trial traffic control, noise limits and guest flow to shape the planned full-scale attraction.

Overview

  • Karls confirmed a mobile “Erlebnisdorf light” for Wernigerode that opens in May, with a preview day for local residents followed by general admission.
  • The pop-up covers up to three hectares and will offer rides and games including a tractor railway, a strawberry caterpillar coaster, a potato-sack slide and a corn maze.
  • Company leaders and local officials say the live setup will let them measure traffic, noise and crowd movement so they can tweak layouts, hours and the ride mix.
  • All elements are temporary and will be taken down by October 31 to clear the site for building once the zoning plan is completed.
  • Karls is targeting a spring 2028 opening for the permanent park, projects more than 200 jobs, and says it would be the first site of its kind in Saxony-Anhalt.
