- KVIFF announced Tuesday that Dustin Hoffman and Juliette Binoche will receive the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema, with Hoffman honored at the opening ceremony and Binoche at the closing ceremony.
- Cinematographer Robert Richardson will also receive a Crystal Globe and will present Jana Hojdová’s documentary portrait of him, which has its world premiere at the festival.
- Actor Jeffrey Wright was named this year’s recipient of the President’s Award and the festival will screen titles connected to the honorees, including Hoffman’s The Graduate, Binoche’s Certified Copy and Three Colors: Blue, and Wright’s Basquiat.
- Organizers confirmed special guests and event programming for July 3–11 in Karlovy Vary, including Harvey Keitel attending a Mean Streets screening, the Bacon–Sedgwick family presenting Family Movie, opening-night documentary The Match, closing-night film The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, and an outdoor set by DJ/producer NobodyListen.
