Karachi Police Book JI City Chief Over Shahrah-e-Faisal Protest

Overview

• An FIR was registered at Tipu Sultan Police Station on the complaint of SHO Azhar Khan, naming JI Karachi Ameer Munim Zafar and other leaders.
• The complaint states 800 to 1,000 participants gathered on Shahrah-e-Faisal, blocking traffic and ambulances and causing hardship to commuters and patients.

• JI condemned the FIR as political victimization and vowed to continue its campaign, while KMC Opposition Leader Saifuddin also decried the move and alleged raids and arrests targeting PTI city councillors by the PPP-led Sindh government.
