Karachi Police Arrest Eight in Crackdown on Cross-Border Extortion Calls

SIU’s 2025 report details 171 cases with most traced, highlighting a push to pursue ringleaders overseas.

  • Police say threats to traders and builders were placed from foreign-registered or spoofed numbers, including lines linked to Iran, Nigeria and the Philippines.
