Kansas City Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Linked Highway Shootings and Fatal Crash

Authorities have offered a $25,000 FBI reward and are asking for tips while the 22-year-old suspect remains at large.

Overview

  • Police say a rapid string of four eastbound shootings on I-670/I-70 and a later crash near East Truman Road are connected to the same suspect, and one victim was found shot inside a flipped pickup.
  • The Tuesday victim was identified as 43-year-old Jeremy Keenan, who was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, KCPD said.
  • Homicide detectives have identified 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz of Independence as the suspect and have executed searches and staged two standoffs without capturing him.
  • The FBI has offered a $25,000 reward and KCPD urged anyone with information to contact homicide detectives or Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers with tips.
  • Separately, investigators are probing a Thursday evening shooting in the 9400 block of Cleveland Avenue that left a man dead after an argument moved to the parking lot and the cases are being treated as distinct while evidence is processed.
