Overview
- The festival runs three weekends from 10 to 26 July 2026, with the Gauklernacht opening on 10 July and the arena premiere scheduled for 11 July.
- The 2026 arena show is titled 'Der Sohn des Schwarzen Ritters', written by Thomas Limpinsel and staged with choreography by Janne Geest, and it will feature large-scale stunt and storm sequences designed for dramatic night turniers.
- Organizers say they have finished renewing the entire arena floor and drainage to allow safe jousting in all weather and have confirmed about 2,000 people to operate the event, including roughly 150 staff for security, stewarding and parking.
- The program spans five live stages, more than 100 market stalls and roughly 40 hours of staged entertainment per weekend, with headline acts and stunt troupes such as Cavalcade, Compagnie Alagos and the walkact Pantao on the bill.
- Longtime artisans and volunteer camps supply the festival’s crafts and atmosphere, the event draws well over 100,000 visitors and it supports regional transport and local businesses through special shuttle services and on-site parking arrangements.
