Overview
- K. T. Rama Rao sent an open letter on February 19 to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking allocations in the 2026–27 budget to implement the Congress’s six guarantees, 420 assurances and related declarations.
- He alleged that roughly 95% of the 2023 election promises remain unfulfilled nearly halfway through the term and said the previous two budgets made no meaningful allocations for them.
- His demands span key welfare pledges including Rs 2,500 monthly under Mahalakshmi for women, pensions raised to Rs 4,000, Rythu Bandhu at Rs 15,000 per acre with pending payments cleared and support for BC, SC, ST and minority communities.
- He also pressed for a job calendar, filling two lakh government vacancies and a Rs 4,000 monthly unemployment allowance, besides aid for students and auto drivers.
- Citing unpaid “dues,” he claimed about Rs 65,000 is owed per woman and Rs 1 lakh per elderly beneficiary, and warned the BRS would intensify agitation if allocations are not made; no official response from the government was reported.
