Jury Convicts Jordan Herring of Inflicting GBH in Solihull Window-Fall Case

Police have released the CCTV of the 2022 fall with the survivor's consent.

Overview

  • The jury acquitted him of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
  • Jurors found he pushed or threw the 18-year-old from a fourth-floor window but did not intend really serious harm, following a retrial after an earlier hung jury.
  • The teenager suffered collapsed lungs, a ruptured spleen, a liver laceration and multiple fractures, yet was discharged about a week after being airlifted to hospital.
  • CCTV showed Herring and his mother carrying her back upstairs and more than an hour passed before 999 was called, though the mother later backtracked on some claims in court.
  • Herring remains remanded in custody ahead of sentencing in April 2026, and prosecutors used a biomechanics expert to challenge his claim that she climbed out herself.
