Overview
- Usha Chauhan, wife of Additional District Judge Rajkumar Chauhan, was found unresponsive in the Kacheguda–Bhagat Ki Kothi Express and was declared dead on arrival at a Jaora hospital.
- She had told her husband she was going to the washroom before the train reached Nimbahera, where he got off, waited, and then alerted the Government Railway Police when she did not appear.
- GRP teams reviewed station CCTV at Nimbahera and traced her phone to the moving train, then coordinated checks as the service proceeded toward Mandsaur and Jaora.
- Officials could not open the locked washroom at Mandsaur; the door was later broken at Jaora, where officers found the door locked from the inside and recovered her from the compartment.
- Doctors offered a preliminary view of a possible silent heart attack, police registered a case, and the family declined a post-mortem before the body was handed over after legal formalities.
