Judge Grants Preliminary Approval to $7.85 Million PSN Settlement

Eligible U.S. buyers of select digital games would get PlayStation Store credits if the court gives final approval in October 2026.

Overview

  • The deal would add PlayStation Store credits to active PSN wallets for people who bought select digital games from April 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023.
  • The lawsuit says Sony stopped letting stores sell game download codes in 2019, which pushed buyers to the PlayStation Store and raised prices, and Sony denies wrongdoing.
  • More than 4.4 million U.S. players are in the class, and most credits will be small at about one to three dollars per game.
  • Class members can opt out or object by July 2, 2026, and people with closed PSN accounts must ask the administrator for a paper check by August 27, 2026.
  • The court will decide final approval on October 15, 2026, and payments will come only after that ruling and any appeals.
