JPMorgan Chase to Open More Than 160 Branches in Over 30 States in 2026

The expansion advances a 2024 pledge to grow the branch network to capture a larger share of U.S. retail deposits.

Overview

  • The bank outlined 2026 openings across more than 30 states and nearly 600 planned renovations as part of a multibillion-dollar investment.
  • Roughly 1,100 hires are slated this year, with major build-outs targeting North and South Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Massachusetts, and Tennessee.
  • Massachusetts will get eight new Chase locations in 2026, including sites on Beacon Hill and in Boston’s Longwood area as well as in Pembroke, Saugus, and Medway.
  • The initiative follows a 2024 commitment to add over 500 branches in three years as JPMorgan pursues roughly 15% of U.S. retail deposits.
  • Chase says the rollout will reach rural and low-to-moderate income communities, bucking global branch-closure trends as U.S. lenders continue investing in in-person banking.
