Overview
- Prosser formally answered Apple’s federal complaint on July 3 by admitting he participated in and recorded a FaceTime call that showed unreleased iOS features from a development iPhone.
- He acknowledges sharing a portion of YouTube advertising revenue with Michael Ramacciotti after publishing the videos and says those payments came after the disclosure.
- Prosser denies any prior agreement to obtain confidential information, denies knowing the device belonged to Apple engineer Ethan Lipnik, and places responsibility for the disclosure on Ramacciotti.
- A default judgment entered last October for Prosser was set aside by the court, allowing him to contest Apple’s claims and to seek dismissal, fees, and a jury trial while discovery continues.
- Ramacciotti has cooperated with Apple and produced devices and records, Apple alleges Ramacciotti used location tracking and obtained Lipnik’s passcode to access the development iPhone, and the litigation remains active in the Northern District of California.
