Johnston & Murphy Shutters Disney Springs Store, Fourth Closure in Five Months

The shake-up points to a pivot toward larger entertainment-focused venues at the shopping district.

Johnston & Murphy, which closed Thursday, May 7, is moving staff to a new Mall at Millenia store in October after sending remaining stock to other locations.
The shutdown is the fourth Town Center departure in five months following Sprinkles on January 1, Francesca’s on March 29, and Shore on April 30.
Disney has not announced permanent replacements, and the former Sprinkles space now hosts a temporary Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes pop-up.
The mix is shifting toward experiences as Level99 targets a summer opening in the former NBA Experience building with more than 60 life-size games and about 150 hires.
Visitors should check the Disney Springs site or My Disney Experience app for current listings, and Johnston & Murphy shoppers can use the Vineland or International Drive outlet stores.
