Joey Fatone and Paulo Szot to Alternate as Lance in Broadway’s & Juliet This Summer

The planned rotation fills the Lance role after James Monroe Iglehart departs and preserves the show’s scheduled summer run.

  • The production announced the casting plan on Wednesday, June 3, confirming that Joey Fatone and Paulo Szot will return to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre and share the role of Lance across July through September.
  • Fatone is set to perform July 2–12, August 4–15, and September 1–13 while Szot will appear July 21–26 (matinee), July 28–August 2, and August 18–30 according to the posted schedule.
  • James Monroe Iglehart finishes his run on June 4, with Nicholas Edwards covering June 9–17 and Reese Britts covering June 18–July 1 and understudies filling other dates as needed.
  • The company will welcome Chrissy Metz in her Broadway debut as Angélique beginning June 18 and will mark its 1,500th performance at the Sondheim on June 23.
  • & Juliet is a long-running, commercially successful musical created by David West Read with a pop score featuring Max Martin songs, nine Tony nominations, and a history of rotating known performers to keep ticket sales and performance continuity strong.
