  • The JNJ relied on a report by magistrate Jaime de la Fuente Parodi that found the testimony of ex-advisor Jaime Villanueva did not specify mode, time or place and therefore could not prove a concerted scheme.
  • Investigators had examined claims that coordinations affected the Special Team Against Corruption in Power (Eficcop), including the removal of prosecutor Marita Barreto, the appointment of Guillermo Silva Loli to the team and moves against Rafael Vela.
  • The full board also rejected appeals against rulings that accepted key testimonies from Villanueva, Barreto, Harvey Colchado and Walter Lozano and decided several defense challenges were unfounded.
