JLR Sales Rebound 61% in Q4 as Production Returns to Normal

Upcoming full-year results will show the financial toll.

Overview

  • JLR said Thursday it shipped 95,300 vehicles to dealers in the quarter to March 31, up 61.1% from the prior quarter as factories got back to normal output.
  • Year over year, dealer shipments fell 14.5% and retail sales to customers were 14.3% lower at 92,700, showing the recovery is not yet complete.
  • For the full year, wholesales were 307,900 and retail sales were 352,300, down 23.2% and 17.8% from FY25.
  • The company linked lower volumes to last year’s cyber shutdown, US tariffs, a sharp slide in China where sales dropped about 30%, and the planned wind‑down of older Jaguar models.
  • Earlier updates showed £600 million of losses and about £3 billion of cash burned in the first nine months, with full-year financials due next month to clarify the broader hit.
