JLR Launches PanEuropean Charging Service with More Than 1.1 Million Points

Designed to ease charging access for buyers, the service will support imminent electric model launches.

Overview

  • The new JLR Charging service, announced Tuesday, gives Jaguar and Land Rover EV and plug‑in hybrid drivers integrated access to roughly 1.1–1.17 million public chargers across 29 European countries including about 75,000 UK points.
  • JLR has embedded the service in its InControl app and in‑car navigation so drivers can find compatible chargers, filter by speed and availability, pay through a single account, and use a complimentary JLR‑branded charging card issued to new and approved used EV/PHEV buyers.
  • The platform replaces the previous Plugsurfing‑based Jaguar and Land Rover charging services and runs on Digital Charging Solutions’ network, which already supports premium manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes‑Benz and Volvo.
  • The service is free to join and offers an optional subscription priced at £8.99 per month that applies a 20% discount to charging tariffs, giving customers a choice between pay‑as‑you‑go and a lower‑cost plan.
  • JLR has also extended its mapping and compatibility work with Here Technologies to show only charge points that work with a given vehicle in real time, a move meant to reduce range anxiety and back imminent launches such as the Range Rover Electric.
