J&K Police Attach Over Rs 55 Lakh in Assets in Widening Anti-Drug Drive
Police are using the NDPS law to cut off cash from alleged drug sales.

- Police attached assets worth more than Rs 55 lakh from two suspects in Baramulla and Anantnag as part of the “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan.”
- In Baramulla, investigators said Mohammad Rustum Shah used drug profits to buy a house registered in his wife’s name and a car, and they attached both, valuing them at about Rs 45 lakh.
- In Anantnag, officers seized a Baleno Sigma taxi worth about Rs 10 lakh from Shahbaz Gulzar Khan, saying it was purchased with money earned through peddling.
- The Baramulla and Anantnag attachments were executed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act using FIRs registered at the Rehambal and Chenani police stations in Udhampur.
- Officials said Udhampur Police have attached properties worth Rs 80 lakh under the campaign, and Shopian police earlier seized an immovable property valued at Rs 10 lakh in a separate case.
