Overview
- A New Castle County grand jury returned the indictment on Feb. 2, and police arrested 77-year-old William Stevenson at his Wilmington-area home without incident.
- He was arraigned on $500,000 cash bail and is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post it.
- Officers originally responded late Dec. 28 to a reported domestic dispute in the Oak Hill neighborhood, where Linda Stevenson, 64, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
- The indictment alleges he intentionally caused his wife’s death, and officials say the autopsy findings have not been released.
- Police said Stevenson called 911 during the December incident, and it is not yet clear whether he has retained an attorney.
