Jharkhand Opens Free Residential NEET–JEE Institute for Tribal Students in Ranchi

The Welfare Department’s new centre partners with Kota’s Motion to coach 300 selected ST students at Hindpiri.

  • Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Engineering and Medical Coaching Institute in Ranchi on December 22.
  • The state has engaged Motion Education from Kota under a public–private model to deliver classroom instruction at the Welfare Department facility in Hindpiri.
  • The programme is fully free and residential, offering expert faculty, study materials, tablets with e‑content, library access, digital learning resources, and separate hostels for boys and girls.
  • Eligibility is limited to Scheduled Tribe students who are permanent residents of Jharkhand and whose parents are not in regular government service, with 300 candidates selected for the first batch, including 168 girls.
  • Officials say similar free coaching for SC, OBC and minority students is planned from the next academic year with budget provision expected, and tender processes are underway for related minority coaching schemes.
