Jewish Family’s Adelaide Home Vandalised as Police Hunt Two Seen on CCTV

The homeowner left the offensive graffiti visible to show his family was targeted as police seek public help to identify two people captured on neighbouring CCTV.

Overview

  • Police are treating the incident as a suspected hate crime after swastikas, antisemitic messages and damage to a vehicle were found at the Camden Park home on Saturday morning.
  • CCTV from a neighbouring property showed a dark sedan arrive and two people leave the vehicle, and SA Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
  • Homeowner Rosti Sverdlov has chosen not to remove the graffiti so neighbours can see his family was deliberately targeted and he says the attack has left them shaken but defiant.
  • State leaders and the Jewish community condemned the vandalism and point to South Australian laws that make public display of Nazi symbols a criminal offence with fines and possible jail time.
  • Police said a separate report of offensive material at the Moana boat ramp appears older and not linked to the Camden Park attack, and officers have increased patrols and support for the family.
