- Beaches star Jessica Vosk released a one-off video Friday performing the film song “Otto Titsling” with songwriter Marc Shaiman at the piano.
- The number, made famous by Bette Midler in the 1988 movie and co-written by Midler, Jerry Blatt, Charlene Seeger, and Shaiman, is not included in the Broadway musical.
- Vosk said constant fan requests drove the “bonus track” recording, which gives audiences a moment they will not hear at the Majestic Theatre.
- Shaiman, who supervised the original film’s music, joined the session and recounted crafting the song’s wild, off-kilter style.
- The Broadway adaptation opened April 22 and continues its run with Vosk originating Cee Cee, as the stage score features new music by Mike Stoller and keeps only “Wind Beneath My Wings” from the film.
