Jenelle Evans Calls Ex’s GoFundMe a Scam as Andrew Lewis Disputes Her Account

Conflicting claims over costs, access, and Jace’s location raise the stakes for mediation.

Overview

  • Jenelle Evans, who issued a statement Monday, told TMZ the GoFundMe Andrew Lewis started for legal and medical bills is a scam and said Jace is fully insured and that she is paying for his care.
  • Andrew Lewis responded in an interview published Monday by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, denying any scam and saying his insurance has already paid more than $35,000 for Jace’s treatment while he owes about $16,000.
  • Lewis said he and Jace’s grandmother, Barbara Evans, have been cut off from contacting the 16-year-old and claimed Jenelle moved him from a mental health facility to an undisclosed location.
  • Both sides say the dispute is heading to mediation, which is scheduled before an April 13 hearing, after a judge earlier denied Barbara’s emergency custody request.
  • Lewis launched the fundraiser to help cover medical and legal costs tied to seeking custody, and The Ashley reported it had raised more than $9,900 as of Monday.
