JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Starts Under Tight Security After NTA Adjusts Centres and Dates

More than a million candidates face biometric checks under CCTV with signal jammers as a Ramgarh tampering probe continues.

Overview

  • JEE Main Session 2, which began Thursday, runs through April 8 with two daily shifts for BTech/BE and a separate Paper 2 day for BArch/BPlanning.
  • NTA released new admit cards for the April 5–8 slots and requires a printed hall ticket with QR/barcode plus an original government photo ID for entry.
  • Exam centres are using biometric verification, manual frisking, CCTV with AI-based monitoring and signal jammers, with a simple dress code and a strict ban on electronics, notes and metal items.
  • NTA rescheduled some papers and reassigned centres after requests linked to the West Asia conflict, Easter and CBSE clashes, and the Indian Embassy backed the overseas start in Saudi Arabia.
  • A local breach at a Ramgarh centre led to three arrests on March 29 with monitors, CPUs, phones and a vehicle seized, and an SDO has been tasked to file findings while testing continues.
