Overview
- JD Wetherspoon, which announced the move Thursday, will open airside pubs at Barcelona–El Prat’s Terminal 1 by September 2026 and Terminal 2 by January 2027.
- Both venues will sit beyond security and be run by Spain’s Ibersol Group, with daily hours set for 5am to 11pm and kitchens serving until an hour before closing.
- The two unnamed pubs will accommodate nearly 600 customers across more than 5,700 square feet (about 530 square metres) of customer space.
- Menus will mirror UK Wetherspoon staples such as breakfasts, burgers and pizzas, with added local Spanish dishes and real ale to fit the airport setting.
- The expansion follows February 2026’s Alicante Airport debut, and the company says more overseas openings are planned in the coming months and years, particularly at airports.
