Jason Newsted’s Chophouse Band Sets First North American Headlining Tour for Summer 2026

The run signals Newsted’s pivot from occasional charity gigs to a full-scale “outsider Americana” tour.

Overview

  • The band announced Tuesday an 18-date July 1–25 itinerary that pairs eight headlining shows with 10 opening sets for Blackberry Smoke.
  • The trek starts at Northampton’s Iron Horse Music Hall and ends with a two-night stand at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on July 24–25.
  • Tickets for the headlining dates go on sale Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m. local time.
  • The 2026 lineup features Jason Newsted with Jesse Farnsworth, Jimbo Hart, Humberto Perez and Robert John‑Tucker.
  • The project began in 1992 around Newsted’s Chophouse studio as a benefit-focused band by the former Metallica bassist, who left in 2001 and joined the Rock Hall with them in 2009.
