- The Boston Pops confirmed Jane Lynch as the host of its free July 4 Fireworks Spectacular at the Hatch Shell.
- Tony Award winner Megan Hilty has been added to the performers, joining previously announced stars Lainey Wilson, Chance The Rapper, and Trombone Shorty.
- Spectator access to the Charles River Esplanade event opens at 12 p.m., and the concert has been free to the public since it began in 1929.
- CNN will carry a portion of the program with Anderson Cooper and Pamela Brown cohosting, and the evening will stream on CNN All Access and air locally on WHDH‑TV Channel 7 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.
- Organizers are positioning the Spectacular as a flagship event for MA250 and will feature local ensembles such as the Boston Children’s Chorus, drum corps and the USS Constitution Color Guard alongside returning Pops collaborators.
