Jammu and Kashmir Orders Sweeping Police Reshuffle With 82 Transfers
The government described the move as an administrative step to refresh leadership across ranges and districts.

- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha approved an immediate redeployment of 82 police officers, including 34 from the Indian Police Service, through an order issued by Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti.
- DIG Tejinder Singh was named Inspector General of Police for the Crime Investigation Department, and Sarah Rizvi was appointed Inspector General of Police for the Crime Branch, which ends Sujit Kumar’s additional charge.
- The order reassigned 15 Deputy Inspectors General, including shifts that move leadership across key ranges such as Jammu–Samba–Kathua, Udhampur–Reasi, North Kashmir, and Traffic Kashmir.
- District policing saw major changes as Udhampur and Anantnag SSPs swapped posts and new SSPs were named for Doda, Samba, Reasi, Budgam, and Ganderbal.
- Additional postings include a new SSP for Security in Jammu, new leads for the Finger Print Bureau and Police Control Room in Jammu, and new security chiefs for the Civil Secretariat and for Kashmir.
