Jalisco Presents Chulavista–El Cuervo Road to Connect South Tlajomulco With Line 4

The phased build signals a push to plug fast-growing neighborhoods into a larger transit network.

Overview

  • The state project, which officials presented Tuesday in Tlajomulco, now has extra funds approved and is in bidding for another kilometer to finish the link into Chulavista.
  • The completed segment runs about 2 kilometers with four concrete lanes and a 20.5-meter bridge, delivered by the state public works ministry for 189.5 million pesos.
  • The new avenue connects neighborhoods including Chulavista, Lomas del Mirador, Santa Fe and El Cuervo to Line 4 of Guadalajara’s public transport.
  • The build adds drainage, lighting, sidewalks and a protected bike lane to shorten trips toward the Zona Valles and make everyday travel safer for walkers and cyclists.
  • Leaders placed the road within a larger program that features a proposed Line 5, widening of Avenida El Zapote and a second airport access via Avenida Adolf Horn with the airport operator.
