Jake Paul Cools on Tommy Fury Rematch, Eyes Bigger Names as Ngannou Joins MVP

Doctors have barred the 12–2 contender from sparring for up to six months following a second jaw operation.

Overview

  • Paul said he is "not really that hyped" for a Tommy Fury rematch, calling Fury's team difficult to work with and claiming Fury "doesn't have anything going on."
  • After a second jaw surgery, Paul was told to avoid sparring for four to six months and he is targeting a return in late 2026 or early 2027.
  • Asked about future opponents, Paul named Francis Ngannou, Oleksandr Usyk in MMA, Ryan Garcia, and possibly Fury.
  • Ngannou signed with Most Valuable Promotions this month and told Paul he wants to fight during a California press event for the May 16 Netflix card.
  • Paul reiterated he intends to prioritize boxing for now and said an MMA debut would come against someone his own weight, following a December loss to Anthony Joshua that fractured his jaw in two places.
