Jaguar Sets October Reveal for Type 01 Electric Grand Tourer

Jaguar intends the four-door GT to relaunch the marque into the upmarket segment with global deliveries planned in the first half of 2027.

Overview

  • Jaguar confirmed at its June investor day that the production-spec Type 01 will be unveiled in New York in October 2026 and aims to reach customers in global markets in H1 2027.
  • The Type 01 is a four-door electric grand tourer built on the Jaguar Electric Architecture with a reported tri-motor setup rated at roughly 1,000+ horsepower and about 1,300 Nm of torque.
  • Jaguar says the car will deliver a WLTP range above 700 km and that a 15-minute fast charge can add about 321 km of range, figures the company is carrying forward as targets during testing.
  • An intensive development programme is under way with dozens of prototypes driven on public roads and circuits, including a camouflaged lap of the Monaco track, as Jaguar refines chassis, suspension and software.
  • Jaguar leadership has ruled out engine-based range extenders for the Type 01 and positions the model as the centerpiece of a move to an all-electric, more upmarket brand after the F‑Pace was discontinued in 2025.
